Hello everyone, Will here. Today I am bringing you a quick review and benchmark session of the EVGA nVidia GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Gaming graphics card. This is a carte du jour that I have been looking forrard to reviewing for some time at present. So, without further delay, let's get to it.

Overview and Specifications

The EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Gaming graphics card is built on the nVidia GTX 1080 Ti GPU base and comes with substantial upgrades to base of operations clock, retentiveness clock, and cooling capabilities. The SC2 comes with iCX, which is a thermal monitoring arrangement. It has nine thermal sensors over the bill of fare at the GPU, retention, and multiple power phase areas. The SC2 also offers asynchronous fan control, meaning that the two fans on the menu volition spin at different rates depending on temperatures in their area. For example, when the GPU core heats upwardly to a sure level, the fan immediately over that area volition spin up to cool the core down while the other fan over the retentivity may remain at a lower speed or not spin at all. The card is just a dual slot card giving you more room for air flow within your case or even the power to add together more than components beneath the card easier. For specifications of the bodily GPU, you will become a base clock of 1556MHz that will boost to 1670MHz. There is 11GB of GDDR5X retention with a retentiveness clock of 11000MHz.

Test Methods

For testing this card, I chose a diversity of games like Battleground 1, Assassin's Creed: Origins, CS:GO, F1 2017, Far Weep five, Fortnite, GTA V, NBA 2K18, Overwatch, and Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. All games were tested in 1080p and at the highest settings. The carte du jour was left at stock with no overclocking every bit was the Ryzen 5 2600. I used 16GB of G.Skill TridentZ RAM at 3200MHz. Each game was tested for a one-hour gaming session 3 times each over several days while the FPS was recorded using FRAPS obtaining the 1% low and the average FPS. I monitored temperatures and FPS while gaming using RivaTuner Statistics. Then, with the testing methods out of the way, permit u.s. become to the results and see how this carte du jour fared. All games were tested using the latest nVidia GeForce drivers, version 398.36.

Decision and Final Thoughts

So, there you have information technology. The GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Gaming by EVGA is a powerful card and comes with a hefty overclock out of the box from the manufacturer. The card has absolutely no issue playing any of the games I threw at it. The Ryzen 5 2600 clearly held the card back and a better processor choice for this bill of fare would definitely exist a Ryzen vii 2700 or an Intel i7-8700K overclocked. The carte ran smoothly despite its temperatures hitting 82 degrees Celsius and the fans were extremely loud one time those temperatures got that high. Notation, however, that this card was tested in the Fractal Design Node 202 mini-ITX/HTPC case as I'1000 yet awaiting a more air flow friendly case at writing. The card did throttle frequently but it had negligible upshot on performance. This card is currently roughly $850 from EVGA and tin be had from Newegg or Amazon for effectually $750. At $850, I merely cannot justify purchasing this bill of fare and I will only recommend information technology at $750 if you absolutely feel similar yous demand a carte of this caliber and cannot or do not feel like waiting for the next generation of nVidia cards.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to leave me a comment beneath and vote in the poll. Don't forget to stop past and cheque out futurity articles or revisit some of my older manufactures. Thank you again and accept a cracking day!
